In an afternoon statement, the Eshkol Regional Council noted that several gatherings of this type along the Egyptian side of the border have been reported in recent days.

The IDF will not carry out distancing fire against the white pickup trucks spotted approximately 100 meters from the Israel-Egypt border, Ynet reported on Wednesday afternoon.

According toYnet, IDF observers are currently monitoring the situation, and the Egyptian army is "at the scene and working to remove the residents in these trucks."

The report comes after Israeli public broadcaster KAN News reported that the IDF would carry out "measured fire" against the trucks, further noting that it had deployed tanks, an attack helicopter, and drones to the area.

This is the second incident of pickup trucks being spotted along the Israel-Egyptian border in 24 hours, according to Israeli media.

In an afternoon statement, the Eshkol Regional Council noted that several gatherings of this type along the Egyptian side of the border have been reported in recent days and that it has been in continuous contact with the military.

The council added that the IDF said that the border is "peaceful" and the gatherings do not pose a security threat.

Despite this, the council affirmed that it requested both military and government involvement to "move the gatherings away from the border and increase vigilance in the area."
