LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — More than 100 cars were towed from Lancaster’s snow emergency routes, city officials tell abc27 News.
About 140 cars were towed Saturday as the city prepared for the winter storm.
“All things considered, we’ve had a pretty successful start to the snow emergency,” a Lancaster City spokesperson told abc27 News. “The snow emergency routes are clear of parked cars, and our plow crews are out around the clock making sure emergency vehicles and essential workers can travel safely.”

The city does not receive the towing fee, the spokesperson said, which is paid directly to the towing companies. They do, however, receive a $10 administrative fee to cover the cost for arranging the tow.
Owners will have to pay $300 to the tow company once the car is taken away. If your car was removed, you can check with the various tow companies on how to recover your car.
Residents are offered free parking at various parking decks in the city for the duration of the snow emergency.
